Valley Wine & Design "Go for the Gold" Event a hit!
On Thursday, August 23rd, the UEB Scottsdale office hosted The Valley Wine and Design Club's 2012 August Event titled "Go for the Gold". The Olympic themed party featured several exciting competitions throughout the evening. A "blind" wine tasting from the four host countries (Canada, USA, France and Italy), an Olympic Stadium identification quiz and finally a "Go for the Gold" team trivia event. Guests
enjoyed “café cuisine” from the host countries: Bruschetta from local Italian-influenced wine café Postino, American sandwiches from Bertha's, a variety of French cheeses and Smoked salmon from Canada. There were also sweet
treats from local bakeries, an open bar, and more.
We would like to show our appreciation to all who helped make this event so memorable: Jeanne Birmingham of White Poppy for the floral arrangements, decorations and food displays. Angie Birch for her awesome wine cork Olympic Rings sculpture. And of course, current President Chandra Reilly and VW&D Club founder Wayne Einbinder.

UEB Builders Celebrates 7 Successful Years

SCOTTSDALE (June 5, 2012) – On Thursday, May 31, UEB celebrated its seventh birthday by hosting an open house in appreciation of all who helped to achieve this milestone. More than two hundred business partners, clients, friends, and family joined the party. Guests enjoyed “café cuisine” from Postino, a local Italian-influenced wine café, sweet treats from local bakeries, an open bar, and more.
Since opening its doors in 2005, UEB has been fortunate to experience steady growth in the face of the recession. Michael Hurst, UEB Principal reflected: "we've had some challenging moments along the way but we've been lucky enough to get to work with people we really like...on some really cool projects." To commemorate its seventh birthday, the company unveiled its “Evolution of the Brand” exhibit and timeline which showcased milestones along the way, as well as the launch of the recently updated corporate brand identity.
“It's quite overwhelming really...the support we have received from our friends and business partners, and [we] could not have asked for a better turnout this evening,” said Tom Keilty, Principal at UEB Builders. “We look forward to a future filled with meaningful projects and long-lasting client relationships.”
With seven years in the rear view mirror, UEB has renewed its resolve to provide unparalleled construction management services, building on great design.

UEB Sets 60 Rooftop Units at Imagine International Academy
On Saturday, June 2, UEB worked with Berger Engineering to set 60 rooftop units (RTUs) at Imagine International Academy in McKinney, TX. Thanks to the entire team's prep work and great communication, the process only took 1 hour and 30 minutes!
With the fast-paced schedule of this build, using a helicopter to set all of the RTUs saved us roughly three days. Not only did we pick up some time, but it allows the other trades to push onward unhindered while the RTUs are brought to life above them.

Construction Update at Texas Spine & Joint Hospital in Tyler, Texas
Texas Spine &
Joint Hospital construction is progressing nicely! We are in the process of adding
two new wings to the existing hospital – one to serve as a pain clinic and
another to act as a bed unit. The image above shows the rotunda entrance to the
pain clinic.
Currently, both
wings have been framed and topped out with steel, so it is now easy to see the
shape, size, and outline of the new buildings. Also, metal decking for the
second floor and roof are in place and ready for the concrete floor and roof to
be poured later this week. More to come!

Clear Skies in East Texas Means Progress at Texas Spine & Joint Hospital
With the recent clear skies and dryer weather in Tyler, we have made significant progress at Texas Spine & Joint Hospital. Currently, we are laying the metal deck that will support the pain clinic’s level one flooring and are stocking the metal deck for the roof of its second floor. This week, we plan to pour the concrete for the first floor of the new pain clinic.
Later this month, we plan to kick-off work on the interior renovation of the existing adjacent building. And, once things are further underway in the next couple of weeks, we will begin the landscape process to add a touch of color and “green up” the area.

Laser guided slab pour underway for the Imagine International Academy of North Texas
Today the slab pour for the Imagine International Academy of
North Texas began. This two day, 40,000 square foot pour is broken into a
four section checkerboard pattern. By pouring the slab in sections no
larger than 10,000 square feet we can minimize surface cracking. This is
an especially important technique when the slab areas are more rectangular than
square, as is the case with the footprint of this building. The concrete is
leveled by a laser guided screed, ensuring the finished floor height will be
uniform over the entire slab.
